The student Ministry of Refuge Church of Pike County

We want all of our students to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We have designed our student ministry to deepen understanding of the greatness of our God, and to give encouragement in the pursuit of godliness.

True North Student group meets on Wednesday nights at 6 PM for games, food, and fellowship followed by a teaching from the Word.

Oct. 1st ~ Paper Pantry

~ Our teens join the rest of our congregation at Refuge Church, in serving our community.  This event is the same time, 6-8pm, as our normal student group time on Wednesday nights.

~ Some teens run list of needs upstairs to be filled, some bring the items back downstairs, and others help load paper product items into client cars (with adult supervision).

~ Paper Pantry is always the first Wednesday night of every month. Every other month the TN Student group meets after Paper Pantry at the Bowling Green DQ, for a cool treat. *Not in October, however.

Oct. 8th & 15th ~ Bible Study of the book of Hebrews

~ In July we began a chapter by chapter Bible study in the book of Hebrews. We took a break from it in September but are returning this month to continue in chapters 7-11.  Most likely wrapping up Hebrews in November.

Heb. 5:14 "But solid food is for the mature,

for those who have their powers of

      discernment trained by constant

practice to distinguish good from evil.”

Oct. 22nd ~What is SIN, really?

~ We're taking a look at "Sin". Why? Because we live in a world that "calls evil good and good evil".  (Isaiah 5:20-21)

~ We're making sure our teens know what God's Word says about that and teach them how to know the difference.  A great discussion to continue at home!

~ Knowing God (part of our church's vision), means they know what He calls sin and what the wages of sin are for us.

~ A heavy topic, but one where truth leads to hope!

Oct. 29th ~ Is Hell & Satan Real?

~ It's the month of Fall parties - for our church it's Trunk-Or-Treat, for other groups it's pumpkin festivals, and for many it's Halloween.

~ Halloween has made Satan look pretty cute as a costume.  And, in everyday life we've heard jests about being little devils or joke about going to hell.

~ But it's no joke and it's not funny! Hell is real, and Satan wants to bring as many of us there as he can.

~ Pastor Mike will lead this lesson about the realness of Hell & Satan, and how we need to take them seriously.

1 Peter 5:8

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Oct. 31st ~ Trunk-Or-Treat

Our TN Students will be encouraged to participate (costume is optional) in helping serve our community with Trunk-Or-Treat activities, at Refuge Church.  See the Refuge Church Events page for more details.
