Family Values – God First

In this opening message of our Family Values series on Family day, we explore Jesus' words in Matthew 6:33: "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need." Every family has values—things that matter most and shape daily priorities. Whether it's education, sports, success, finances, relationships, or entertainment, our lives can easily become filled with good things that compete for first place.

The challenge isn't that these things are bad; it's where God is placed among them.

Jesus reminds us that God's desire is not simply to be part of our lives but to be first in our lives. When we intentionally seek Him above everything else, He begins to shape our priorities, our character, and the rhythms of our homes.

The main takeaway from this message is simple:

When God has first place, everything else finds its proper place.

Through practical examples and everyday application, we're encouraged to make worship, prayer, Scripture, discipleship, and serving a regular part of family life. Even small steps—praying before school, reading a verse together, listening to worship music, speaking kindness, and thanking God at meals—can help create a home where Christ is at the center.

No matter your stage of life, this message is an invitation to evaluate your priorities and make God's Kingdom your highest pursuit. When He is first, everything else begins to align according to His design.
